Jacob

One of the most interesting and important figures in the Bible is Jacob. It was Jacob who was chosen of God and renamed Israel. It was Jacob who fathered the twelve tribes of Israel. And relevant to us, it was Jacob who is used by the Apostle Paul as a figurehead for the elect in Romans 9. Join Pastor Vaughn Winslett for this interesting study of the life of Jacob. David’s Sin and God’s Grace

One of the most heartbreaking scenes in all of the Bible is when David sinned with Bathsheba. To someone who doesn’t understand God’s grace, such a moment might give reason to believe David had lost any hope of being in Heaven. However, sad and horrific as moments like these are, for the child of God, where sin abounds grace does much more abound. Join Pastor Vaughn Winslett for this message from 2 Samuel chapter 11.  Continue reading

Perfecting the Saints in Holiness

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 4:17-24

For the Perfecting of the Saints

Pastor Vaughn Winslett shares thoughts from Ephesians 4:12, that the ministry has been given for the edification of the saints of God.

“Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men…And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ…”

The Love of God | Steve Milner

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. – 1 John 4

Exposition of Ephesians 4:1-10

Join Pastor Vaughn Winslett, as he continues his study of Ephesians, coming to chapter 4, verses 1-10.

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) – Paul, Ephesians 4:1-10

The Mystery Revealed

Join Pastor Vaughn Winslett in this sermon from Ephesians 3:1-13, from his recent series through the book of Ephesians.

Ephesians 3:1-13 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.  Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Christ Exalted

While many words could be used to describe Christ coming in all His glory, one words in particular certainly applies: Exalted. That is, Christ Jesus will be exalted in that day.

Ephesians 1:10-14 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

All Things In Christ
